Shipt Proudly Partners with Feeding America® to Reduce Hunger in Local Communities
This year marks a major milestone as more than 11 million meals have been provided as a result of Shipt donations throughout our seven year partnership with Feeding America.
In honor of Hunger Action Month®, observed every September, Shipt is matching all donations made to Feeding America, up to $25,000. This will help to provide over 500,000 meals. However, our commitment as a company extends far beyond the month of September. This year we have pledged $325,000 to Feeding America and local member food banks. This will help to ensure children who receive meals during the school year are also receiving food when school is not in session.
“We’re grateful for our continued partnership with Shipt,” said Lauren Biedron, VP of Corporate Partnerships at Feeding America. “To have the Shipt team volunteering year after year at member food banks, in addition to their financial commitments to help nourish the communities in which they work, demonstrates how individual actions collectively create real impact for people facing hunger.”
Shipt shares Feeding America’s commitment to disparities in equitable food access and advances new solutions to end hunger. We are proud to lend our technology and financial support to many other organizations driving solutions in their communities including our Community Impact & Innovation Grant partners, the YWCA of Central Alabama, University of Michigan School of Medicine, Jones Valley Teaching Farm, Emeril Lagasse Foundation and Meals on Wheels.
“Shipt is passionate about doing our part to eliminate hunger and malnutrition in the communities we serve,” said Shipt VP of Economic Development and Social Impact, Khadijah Abdullah. “This approach connects everything Shipt has to offer: our product, platform, people, and philanthropy. It’s a cause we’re committed to in September, and throughout the year through our various partnerships and programs.”
