Shipt’s Longstanding Commitment to Food Security
Since 2019, Shipt has maintained a commitment to investing in the communities we serve, with a particular focus on food security and resilience
At Shipt, we’ve always been passionate about building connections and helping invest in the local communities we serve. As a technology company that powers grocery delivery, we believe that our platform is uniquely positioned to help reduce barriers to food access in partnership with local communities.
“Shipt is passionate about ending food insecurity and we’ve made it a key priority,” said Shipt VP of Economic Development and Social Impact, Khadijah Abdullah. “Every action – big or small – is one step closer to an America where no one is hungry.”
Everyone needs nutritious food to thrive, and yet, millions of families across the U.S. live in areas with low access to nutritious, fresh food. With these values at the forefront, we’ve led change in this space for years now and we’re proud of the steps we’ve taken to combat hunger.
Here are some of the ways we’ve been involved:
2019
Shipt supports Emeril’s Culinary Garden and Teaching Kitchen program in 6 schools, helping to provide tools that integrate gardening and cooking education with core academic subjects and to create an interactive learning environment centered on food.

Taken together, these actions demonstrate our belief as a company in the power of people and communities coming together. Human connection is at the core of everything we do here at Shipt and we will continue to look for ways to improve the communities we are privileged to serve.
