Same-day delivery marketplace Shipt today announced that residents in Alabama now have access to Shipt’s same-day delivery of beer and wine from Target just in time for the holiday season. With the holidays fast approaching, customers across the state can rely on Shipt to deliver everything they need to make the holidays special this year. Whether it’s a bottle of their favorite champagne or a can of hard seltzer, Alabama residents can leverage Shipt’s trusted network of shoppers to safely deliver their drink of choice in as soon as one hour.

Each year, Shipt experiences an increase in alcohol orders through its platform during the holidays in markets where it currently delivers alcohol – in more than 20 states across the country. The elevated orders usually start three weeks before Thanksgiving, with the highest sales increase the week of Thanksgiving. And, the top-selling beverages customers add to their Thanksgiving drink menu are red wine, white wine, and domestic beer.

Customers in Alabama can now shop the aisles of Target and build a virtual cart of their favorite beer and wine products on the Shipt marketplace, Target.com and the Target App.  Shipt will continue expanding alcohol delivery to additional retailers over time, giving customers access to even more products. 

To determine if same-day delivery of alcohol is available in their area and to place an order, Alabama residents can visit shipt.com or download the Shipt app. Customers can shop the aisles from select retailers and choose their preferred beverages before checking out. They will then schedule their delivery and a Shipt shopper, certified to safely and accurately deliver alcohol, will bring the items directly to their door.

Customers must be at least 21 years old to order or accept alcohol deliveries and will be required to present identification upon delivery.

Shipt Shoppers who wish to deliver orders containing alcohol will complete a certification program that covers Shipt’s alcohol delivery policy and provides education on topics like identifying underage individuals, intoxicated persons, and fake or altered identification.
