Meet Linda Seal, Shipt’s New Chief Legal Officer
Our employee spotlight allows you to get up-close and personal with some of our key team members.
As Chief Legal Officer, Linda Seal leads a team responsible for all of Shipt’s legal and compliance matters, while serving as a valued business partner on the executive team. Seal brings more than 20 years of experience to her new role. However, her passion and dedication to the law profession began at the young age of 6!
Upon graduating from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law, Seal began her career as an associate at a law firm. A few years later, she transitioned to an in-house practice and has since spent the majority of her career with mid-size and large corporations. Seal officially joined the Shipt team last month.
1. Why did you decide to go into the legal profession?
My older sister, cousin, and I all decided our future professions when we were young children. I decided to become a lawyer at just 6 years old – and the rest is history. Fortunately, I chose well because I enjoy being a lawyer, particularly the ability to craft unique solutions that help drive businesses forward.
2. What is the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
Plan your work, work your plan – and get buy-in early and as often as necessary from key stakeholders. I have had the benefit of learning from and leading incredibly talented people and I am looking forward to continuing that legacy at Shipt.
3. Who inspires you?
I am inspired by people who exhibit high integrity, foresight and a caring nature. It’s been wonderful to meet so many people in my new role who embody Shipt’s values of caring and authenticity.
4. What drew you to Shipt?
Shipt is a very special, purpose-driven company. This is a unique opportunity to work for a company during a period of rapid growth and to influence, as appropriate, an area of the law that is ever evolving.
5. What is the one item you always have in your Shipt cart?
There is always some type of snack food in my Shipt orders – from cashews to grapes to potato chips.
